DAVID SHEEN: Media Smears
David Sheen is an independent journalist and filmmaker
born and raised in Canada, now living in and reporting from Israel*Palestine

In the 2010's, David Sheen was one of a few local journalists reporting on the troubling extent of racial divisions and religious extremism in Jewish-Israeli society. While Sheen's work earned him recognition as a human rights defender, and the respect of journalists and journalist unions around the world, it also attracted the ire of other media professionals. Some of them have smeared Sheen, in an effort to delegitimize him and his reports, to try to protect Israel from facing this shame. But over time, the truths about Israeli racism cannot be covered up – nor should they, if these are to be confronted. Ultimately, all these attacks do is reveal the ultra-nationalist bias of the media outlets that publish them. If you want to find out for yourself what David Sheen actually thinks and feels, you're welcome to read any one of hundreds of articles or videos he has authored in the last decade.
